Training runs July - October 2024

Become a BMA Organizational Coach! Apply contemplative skills to create workplaces and communities where belonging replaces bias.

This training program will empower you with knowledge and skills to become an active part of BMA’s antiracism, DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging), and wellness efforts with our partners across industries.

As an extension of our team, you will help us amplify the impact of our unique mindfulness-based, shame-free, and trauma-informed approach to more organizations.

Become a part of a community of practitioners who are blending ancient wisdom with modern science to bridge understanding and strengthen compassion across difference.

What You Will Learn

As a BMA Organizational Coach, you’ll become an extension of our team. You’ll be trained in our unique approach, including the PRISM Toolkit, to support others as they drive tangible behavior change toward more equitable and inclusive workplaces and communities.

After completing the program, you will be able to:

  • Facilitate “Breaking Racial Bias” with our partners at Antiracist Development Institute at Penn State Dickinson Law (ADI)

  • Facilitate BMA’s DEIB & Wellness Trainings and Workshops

  • Lead webinars on behalf of Anu/BMA on topics related to mindfulness, compassion, breaking bias, antiracism, and DEIB

  • Receive ongoing mentorship and support from the BMA Team

  • Become a part of our beloved community of practice

 Are you ready to become a BMA Organizational Coach?

  • To be eligible to become a BMA Organizational Coach, we ask that you:

    1. Have silent meditation retreat experience and a regular contemplative practice, such as daily meditation and/or other contemplative modalities. Mindfulness, loving-kindness, and compassion meditation practices are central to our approach and we request that candidates have a felt-sense appreciation of these practices.

    2. Have experience teaching meditation or other contemplative practices. Our programs utilize meditation as a vehicle to support professionals shift the nature of stereotyping in their minds, hearts, and bodies. Candidates must be comfortable leading such practices for small and large groups.

    3. Have facilitation/teaching experience: Seasoned experience in leading discussions, teaching workshops, or facilitating intergroup dialogues, ideally around issues of difference, diversity, antiracism, and/or any other form of -ism.

    4. Demonstrated interest in social change: We're looking for candidates deeply committed to social change, racial equity, and social justice using business as a force for good and utilizing a contemplative approach to bridge divides and foster understanding.

    5. Participate in all aspects of the Training Program. See “Time Commitment” below.

  • This pilot cohort will consist of up to 12 individuals working around the country in different sectors who share an interest in becoming a part of our training and coaching team.

    Total time commitment between July - October: 120 hours

    • On-boarding Weekend (July 26–28, 2024): 20 hours

    • Self-led courses: 35 hours

    • Daily PRISM Meditation Practice (at least 10 minutes): 25 hours

    • Six bi-weekly group sessions on Zoom: 12 hours

    • Practicum: 8 Hours

    • Culminating Conference (Oct 16–18): 20 hours

  • In-person on-boarding training weekend: July 26-28, 2024 in or near NYC

    Six training sessions (over zoom): Tuesdays, 12pm - 1:30pm EST on:

    August 6, 13, 27, September 10, 24, and October 8

    Culminating weekend: The 2nd Annual Antiracist Development Institute (ADI) Convening

    Wednesday, October 16 - Friday, October 18, 2024

  • Our flexible investment model, ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 lets you contribute an amount aligned with your financial capacity and/or the ability of your employer to subsidize your participation. (Click here for a template you can use to request professional development funds.)

    After completing the certification program, graduates will have regular earning opportunities as part of the BMA team in partnership with ADI and others. This will begin in Fall of 2024 and details will be provided upon successful completion.

  • Your investment covers all of the following:

    • Comprehensive Curriculum: Gain a deep understanding of BMA's core principles, including the 10 BMJ competencies and PRISM framework. Learn to create safe and inclusive spaces for transformative learning.

    • Expert-Led Training: Renowned facilitators will guide you through interactive sessions and workshops.

    • Foundational Training: Develop a strong base in mindfulness and social healing practices through 60 hours of foundation courses, exercises, and daily practices.

    • Hands-on Experience: Apply your learnings in an 8-hour practicum, facilitating two group sessions and receiving feedback from experienced mentors.

    • Community Building: Connect and collaborate with a supportive cohort of like-minded facilitators through bi-weekly group sessions and a dedicated online community space.

    • Accommodation and Meals: Participants will receive lodging and meals for the in-person portions of the training. Transportation is not included.

    • Breaking Bias Book: Each person will receive a copy of Anu’s new book, Breaking Bias, once it is released this fall.

    • Certification: Upon successful completion of the program, earn your BMA facilitator certification, allowing you to facilitate BMJ and BRB programs.

About Our Team

  • Anu Gupta

    Anu Gupta (he/him)

    is a lawyer, scientist, educator, and the Founder of BE MORE with Anu. He developed BMA’s science-backed method by applying neuroscience and organizational psychology to two decades of study, meditation practice, and original research on the causes of and solutions to organizational diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) challenges. His book, Breaking Bias, with a foreword by His Holiness the Dalai Lama comes out in September.

After completing her MA in Counseling, she spent 6 years coordinating large-scale events and supervising student teams at Eastern Michigan University, during which time she earned an MBA and a Project Management Professional certification.

    is a storyteller, designer, marketing-communications professional, researcher, and educator with over 10 years of experience across the higher ed and nonprofit sectors.
